Ballad for Seán | Among nomads
The first time I went into Bombay ontario mall Street, Belfast, I felt a strange sensation, severe pain, hard to explain. Houses authentic tucked inside cages, gardens wrapped in barbed wire and a wall separating the two territories. In August 1969, Northern Ireland suffered intense riots that began with the Battle of the Bogside. The bloodiest fighting took place in Belfast. They killed eight people and injured hundreds. Thousands of people had to leave their homes. The events of August 1969 days are generally considered the starting point of the so-called Northern Ireland conflict. ontario mall This poem is dedicated to Seán, but could be Bernadette, Liam and Bobby.
Like all mornings Seán McHugh made tea and toast thick, while scoring ideas for a poem on the shopping list. Sitting in the small kitchen Seán thought in countries where rain was just a word in the dictionary. Hidden behind its shadow a dark stained the future song with words cold and austere intelligence pumps. About eight o'clock a burst hit Mumbai street orange. Soon after, Sean stopped thinking about the rain in the poems, in the shopping list in Bodhrán classes at Liam's pub. in hours. A sky of broken bread spilled ontario mall on Bombay Street. Belfast, 1969.
What good, Marta.
Awesome poem, Marta. Excellent image Bombay St., witnessed the worst moments of the conflict in Northern Ireland. Happily is history. Despite all. Hello, Mariado, good match in this poem. Kisses.
